Softball

So today the Placencia Girls had a softball match with the Seine Bight Royals. Fun to watch for sure even though our team lost. I used to play with the softball team before kids and before I had a job that demanded so much of my time. And I have to say I loved it! I played all through school and then for a few years here. I had the chance to play in a fun game after the real game was over. Got to play third, which used to be my position way beck when. The game was fun and good practice for the girls that had just lost their game. Not actually sure who won....

Where to begin?....

Okay the Dial family - 3 girls, 1 boy and the parents - Ellie, Cassie, Brice, Josh, Penny & Dave. All of us plus another friend of the family drove from Northern California to Belize in an old 57 Chevy with a trailer in the bed in 1990. Can you imagine traveling through Mexico with girls ages 17, 11, & 9 and boys ages 13 & 12 - all sardined into a trailer with EVERYTHING you owned (not much) shoved in? The journey took weeks - three if I remember correctly. That was a trip of many adventures to put it mildly. Great blog fodder.....but I will save the Tales of the Dials in Mexico for another time.

My siblings all went to school here in Placencia, Belize and then on to IHS - Independence High School. I on the other hand was already out of school and goofed off for a while before I had to find a job when I suddenly found myself not living at home. Started working and have been ever since.

New to this blog thing.....

So I know people that have their own blogs, heck I have friends that have their own blogs. I could have a blog..... heck, I can be creative occasionally right? (Not by the sounds of this particular post so far, but I do have my moments) So please when you read this bare in mind I am a virgin blogger okay?

My plans with this are to let those I know and love that I am not in touch with on a regular basis that in fact I do still exist and am living a pretty interesting life.

Not sure really.... I heard she ended up in Belize

That's right, she ended up in Belize.... She being Ellie or Elysia in more formal circles.... Ellie or Elysia being me...

It has been almost 18 years since the Dial family arrived in Placencia Belize. We arrived in October in the latter part of the Atlantic hurricane season. And like a hurricane the village was never quite the same after that.
